Biography
Shannen was born in Memphis, Tennessee. Her father worked on a bank and her mother owned a beauty salon. 1978, her family moved to Los Angeles when Shannen was 7 years old. She already then knew that she wanted to be an actress. Shannen loves her family and she's very grateful of the beautiful childhood she was given.
She got her first role, in "Father Murphy", when she was 10 years old and after that everything started to go fast for her.
Shannen got well known at 11 years old when she got a part in "Little house: a new beginning" as Jenny Wilder. After that, roles started to flood in and she got to play against famous actors like Deidre Hall, Sarah Jessica Parker and Winona Rider. Her big breakthrough came 1990 when she got a part in the new hit tv-series "Beverly Hills 90210" as Brenda Walsh. After Beverly Hills, Shannen wanted to lay low awhile and she starred in "Mallrats" and "Almost dead" just to keep her career going.
1998, Shannen got a role in the new hit tv-series Charmed as Prue Halliwell. She left after 3 seasons to work with other projects that she had been given. Shannen directed the 3 last Charmed episodes that she appeared in because she wanted to something significant before she left.
After Charmed she has done numerous films and tv-series. She was also a host in "Scare tactics" the first season and 8 episodes in the second season.
